K-STAR ACTION STAR COMPETITION
The search has now finished for 2007 to find new martial arts action stars and all you need to do is enter a competition. For some of you this may sound like the wildest thing you have heard, win a competition and win a movie role. Well your dream has just come true because auditions have just started.
STOP PRESS
K-Star International has finished for 2007 in China and more lucky people (both guys and girls) are just about to walk onto the set of their first movie, now how good is that! Other people who didn't get a movie part were selected to join the K-Star Stage Show to tour the world doing live performances. These people now live in the fulltime training / rehearsal studio in Beijing.
Australian K-Star Not Runing This Year
Unfortunately due to a change of K-Star management in China and the lack of interest in Australia for this show, it was not run here. As I mentioned last year these opportunities are very rare and have to be grabbed when they appear.
For those few people that did send in their application/showreel and payment we can hold on to it or send it back to you. None of the credit cards payments have been debited or any of the cheques banked. We will notify you if there is a competition for 2008 otherwise or keep watching this place for updates. Best of luck for you guys in the future I'm sure you will get the opportunity you desreve, keep trying! Thank you for having the foresight to at least give it a go and enter.
LAST YEAR'S REPORT
Last year (guys only) there was only 50 entires and three of them were offered the free trip to China. I know the best people in Australia were not in that competition but they got the opportunity because they had the courage to give it a go.
In North America 5,500 entered the competition in Europe 7,000 and in China nearly 14,000. So how many Australian's are hungry to get into movies through this doorway? I have added two more videos of last year's comp, check them out.

Martial arts skills preferred but not essential
Many of you will know that Jason Scott Lee who played Bruce Lee in the movie 'Dragon' was not a martial artist but portrayed the role brilliantly. Then there was David Carradine who played a Shaolin Monk in the hit series 'Kung Fu' back in the 70s, he was a dancer.
So what about the girls?
Michelle Yeoh has appeared in many martial arts movies and she is a dancer. Uma Thurman in ‘Kill Bill' played a magnificent assassin but is not a real sword master, she is simply a great actress. So what we are saying is while you need some physical prowess, you don't need to be a martial artist to be an action movie star, you can be trained.
Movie stardom is just an audition away
Many people wait all their lives for an opportunity like this to come along. Often people either don't recognize it or feel they don't deserve it. Its your time now and it could be your only chance, so fill out that entry form and give it a go.
Just by sending a postal audition you may be selected to enter the physical competition and be in the top 100 to actually be in the Australia Reality TV Show. If you get in the Australian final (shown in China) you could be seen by 300 million people. Remember four of you will be going to China.
